Peeler / Washer
The Peeler creates a positive tumbling action with dwell time control. This waterless peeler uses 270 degrees of the drum and brushes. Consider this next to our competitor's peeler and the Hughes Peeler makes more contact with the product to provide an consistantly peeled product with no flat spots. This reduces peel loss.
Hughes Company has down-sized our standard husker design to now offer a manually fed unit for sweet, seed
or fresh market corn. Additionally, the husker can be used to remove stems and trash from fruit (typically citrus
and apples), and vines , tops and trash from potatoes, beets, radishes, onions and carrots.
The system is manually fed with the operator orienting and positioning the cob onto the roller conveyor. The conveyor takes the vegetable to the cutting heads where it is cut to a size based on the customer's specifications. The cut length is easily changed through the use of replaceable arbors
